About ECSC

Professionals in IT security are in more demand than ever, and this is universally acknowledged. Many nations have started holding national cyber security competitions for students, recent graduates, and even non-ICT professionals in an effort to uncover new and emerging cyber talent and inspire young people to seek careers in cyber security. The European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) builds upon these contests by adding a pan-European element.

The European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC) is an annual contest organized by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) where young cybersecurity teams from European countries compete with each other through realistic scenarios.

Over the past eight years, ECSC has grown into a true European success story. The competition model that has the potential to become a lasting asset in Europe’s cybersecurity strategy. The European Cybersecurity Challenge is by far ENISA’s most significant effort to develop and strengthen cybersecurity talent across Europe.

The ECSC is open to young talent under the age of twenty-five (25) and ten (10) competitors from each nation per year.

Towards ECSC 2023

In 2023, ECSC will take place on October 24-26 in Hamar, Norway. The main organizer of the edition is the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Information Security and Information Technology NTNU.

At ECSC 2023, contestants will be required to complete security-related activities from fields like web security, mobile security, crypto puzzles, reverse engineering, and forensics, earning points as they go.

CyberEDU @ ECSC 2023

Since 2020, CyberEDU has been the go-to platform for the Romanian Cybersecurity Challenge (RoCSC) that selects the team representing Romania in the European competition.

As we look ahead, we recognize the need to enhance our efforts and take our initiatives to the next level. With this objective in mind, the CyberEDU team is excited to announce our support for ECSC 2023 as a Silver Partner. It demonstrates our constant commitment to developing cybersecurity, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this journey.

This partnership is a natural step towards nurturing cybersecurity skills and talents among participants and helping them to grow and excel in this critical field. Moreover, we look to encourage the exchange of cybersecurity knowledge and best practices, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. Most importantly, we understand how important it is to stay committed to cultivating cybersecurity expertise and fostering a secure digital environment, both nationally and internationally.

As we draw nearer to ECSC 2023, we believe it’s the perfect moment for a heartfelt shout-out to all participating countries and the remarkable young talents joining this event. We wish everyone not only good luck but also unwavering focus, unshakeable determination and a wealth of chances for growth and learning during the competition.

Fingers crossed for #TeamRomania too! They have done so, so well in the qualification, final and bootcamp phase of the Romanian Cybersecurity Challenge this summer. We wish the best of luck to all of them:
